The first board certification in clinical reasoning.
The CRS-BC credential — issued by the American Board of Clinical Reasoning — validates what no other certification measures: your ability to think through real clinical decisions under pressure. Built on the IIAR framework. Backed by psychometric science. Open to nurses across all specialties.

The Problem
Every credential you hold proves what you know. None of them prove how you think.
Clinical reasoning is the most critical nursing skill — and the only one without a credential.
- ×You make hundreds of clinical decisions every shift, but nothing on your resume proves it
- ×Existing certifications test knowledge recall, not decision-making under pressure
- ×Hospitals have no standardized way to teach, train, or validate clinical reasoning
- ×New grads are expected to “figure it out” — and the ones who can’t leave the profession
The CRS-BC changes that.
The Clinical Reasoning Specialty Board Certification is the first credential that measures, validates, and certifies a nurse’s ability to think through clinical decisions — at the bedside, across any specialty, using a psychometrically validated framework.
- Issued by ABCR — an independent credentialing board
- Built on the IIAR framework — a validated clinical reasoning model
- Open to all nursing specialties — not just one department
- Fundable through your union education entitlements
Your Path to the CRS-BC
How It Works
From enrollment to credential — here’s what the journey looks like.
Enroll Through ABCR
Sign up and pay on the ABCR website. The fee covers the WildeCare workshop and the full certification program. Use your union education entitlements — no hospital budget approval needed.
Attend the Workshop
Complete the 4–8 hour WildeCare workshop (live virtual or in-person). This is where you learn the IIAR clinical reasoning framework — the foundation of everything that follows.
Build Your Portfolio
Download the WildeCare app and begin building your certification portfolio — clinical scenarios, assessments, and case submissions, all grounded in IIAR. You have approximately 90 days.
Earn the Credential
ABCR reviews your portfolio and issues a pass/fail decision within 30 days. Your CRS-BC credential notification arrives through the WildeCare app.
For Nurses Across All Specialties
Is This for You?
New Graduate Nurses
You have the knowledge. Now prove you can apply it at the bedside. The CRS-BC gives you a credential that shows employers you can think — not just pass a test.
Experienced Nurses
Whether you’re transitioning specialties or advancing your career, the CRS-BC validates the clinical reasoning skills you’ve built over years at the bedside. The scenarios scale to meet you where you are.
Any Specialty
The IIAR framework is discipline-agnostic. Whether you work in the ED, ICU, med-surg, oncology, or any other unit — clinical reasoning is clinical reasoning. This credential applies to you.
The Foundation
The IIAR Framework
A validated cognitive architecture for clinical decision-making under pressure. Not a checklist — a way of thinking.

Built by a Nurse. For Nurses.
Jennifer Wilde, RN, BSN, CEN
Founder & CEO, WildeCare Education, Inc.
Jennifer spent 28 years at the bedside in emergency medicine — not managing from an office, but in the rooms. She trained hundreds of nurses and watched the same pattern: capable people struggling not from lack of knowledge, but from lack of a system for thinking through clinical decisions.
So she built one. IIAR is that system — and the CRS-BC is the credential that proves a nurse has mastered it. WildeCare developed the curriculum, the framework, and the psychometrically validated instrument. ABCR issues the credential independently.

Joey
RN
“The Emergency Room Mastery and Preceptor program transformed the orientee’s learning process. His growth was immediate, with clear, measurable goals each week.”
Chris
CAP Preceptor
“After 5 years in the ED, it offered great insight into streamlining my patient care with a faster, evidence-based approach. I’ve recommended it to many nurse techs.”
Shelby
RN, 5 Years
Funding
You probably already have the money for this.
Most union nursing contracts include education entitlements — money set aside specifically for professional development and credentialing. The CRS-BC qualifies. No hospital budget approval. No out-of-pocket surprise. Just the credential you’ve earned the right to pursue.
Not sure if your contract covers it? We can help you find out.
The WildeCare App
Your portfolio lives here.
After the workshop, the WildeCare app is where you build your certification portfolio. Work through IIAR-based clinical scenarios, complete assessments, submit case studies, and track your progress — all on your phone, between shifts, at your own pace.
- Clinical scenarios grounded in the IIAR framework
- Knowledge assessments and case study submissions
- Progress tracking through your ~90-day window
- Credential notification from ABCR when review is complete
